At the age of 36, Sammy J is coming to terms with the realities of his first full-time job.

The Melbourne comedian will take the reins of ABC Radio Melbourne’s Breakfast program from 5:30am on Monday.

“It will sound very lame but I want it to be a fun show where people can learn some stuff and have a chuckle over breakfast. I’m not trying to be more ambitious than that and I’m not trying to rewrite the rules,” Sammy J says.

At the age of 36, Sammy J is coming to terms with the realities of his first full-time job.

He says he is looking forward to occasionally ditching the comedic perspective and asking difficult questions in interviews.

“I’m not a journalist and I’m not going to be the best interviewer in the world. But I can certainly be a normal person who’s interested in things,” Sammy J says.
